I'm going to attempt to make this review as spoiler free as possible. Most of this review will be about the product over all and not the details of the quest.

"The Ruins of Ramat" is a module made specifically for Labyrinth Lord for 4-6 1st level characters. It is written by Jon Adams and published by Brave Halfling Publishing. You can get a copy through Lulu.com. Mine took about six days to print and arrive.

When my copy arrived I was a bit underwhelmed at the brevity of the module -- it's just 10 pages. This is not a module you will use to take characters from level 1 to level 3. This is a quest for a 3 to 4 hour session of gaming. The art is black and white and simplistic in the style of most of the OSR art. For the most part it is acceptably layed out and I didn't find any egregious errors. After I got over this initial reaction, I thought lets see about the content.

The module is a classic dungeon crawler with a good plot that carries on through out. If you're running this as the Labyrinth Lord, I don't think you'll bore you're players. Each room and corridor is filled with something hidden, something trapped, or something to be wary of. There are puzzles and unexpected turns. There are couple of new monsters. One of which is identifiable from the Fiend Folio. I think it's safe to say there is something for every character to do here -- although I'd definitely pack a few clerics for this undead packed mod. I think this is the kind of adventure that would be difficult for seasoned players, new players will probably be sending their character sheets to the round grave yard.

So on a scale of 1 to 5 I give the content a 4 -- I wish there was more of it. I'd give the art and presentation a 3. I'd give the value to dollar ratio a 3, I expected a little more module for $6.69. Still the module shows great promise for a young enterprise. I hope Brave Halfling Publishing continues to create products. They have another module called the "Village of Larm." I think I'll give it a go here in a few weeks.
